Just south of Nashville, the historic and charming city of Franklin is situated “only 15 miles and 100 years down the road” as residents like to say. Franklin offers residents clean and attractive neighborhoods, low taxes, and a beautiful 15-block historic district full of rich history and Victorian architecture.
Lovers of antiques and small-town charm will be delighted with the historic town of Franklin. It was recently cited as one of 100 cities in the book “Best Places to Raise Your Family: The Top 100 Affordable Communities in the U.S.” by Bert Sperling and Peter Sander (copyright 2006). The authors gave a special mention to Franklin as one the best cities for history buffs.
A unique mix of rolling hills, mixed wood, and farmland adorn the land in and around Franklin. Home prices are typically higher than other areas of Nashville, with the northern neighborhoods a bit more upscale and expensive and the southern neighborhoods offering moderately affordable homes. Homeowners have enjoyed a strong housing market and a healthy appreciation of home values in recent years.
