This eagerly anticipated magnificent 70 story, hotel-residential tower was supposed to offer Nashville residents a refined lifestyle reminiscent of New York and Chicago. Unlike The Icon Tower in the Gulch and The Veridian Downtown, Signature Tower proposed to stand at 4th and Church Street planned to offer one and two bedroom condos, three and four bedroom town homes and luxury penthouses to suite all the musicians and medical professionals hungry for an urban lifestyle. Presale prices started at a mere $400,000 and continued into the millions. Hotel Palomar within the tower would provide residents and guest with concierge and spa services, full service fitness centers, spectacular pools, exclusive clubrooms, ballrooms and private theaters.
But these questions remain. Is Nashville ready for a residential and condominium tower that will become the tallest building in the southeast United States surpassing the Bank of America Plaza in Atlanta? And will the sub prime-mortgage collapse and the way lenders are changing their loan standards have any effect on the ability to sell luxury residential living spaces in downtown Nashville?
Ground was supposed to have been broken on the Tower last month; however, supposedly Developer Tony Giarratana needs to shave $5 Million off the final cost which hasn’t happened as of yet. Will Signature Tower be built? Stay tuned. One thing is for certain; there are plenty of fantastic condo’s available for sale in downtown Nashville right now.
